In the heart of Sierra Leone, thousands of children encounter daily obstacles to education. Poverty, the loss of parents, and a lack of basic resources prevent many young people—especially those aged 6 to 15—from attending school and accessing the opportunities they deserve.
Kids Compassion Charity, a dedicated grassroots organization in Sierra Leone, is working to change this situation. The organization has launched a project to support 100 out-of-school children from Goderich Village and 6 Miles, aiming to enroll them in government-approved schools and provide the essential materials needed for a successful return to education.
This initiative directly addresses the most significant barriers to learning. Each participating child will receive a full school uniform, a school bag, a pair of shoes, a dozen exercise books, pens, pencils, and payment of school fees for an entire year. By providing these basic necessities, Kids Compassion Charity helps ensure that children can attend school with dignity and confidence, free from the worry of lacking essential supplies.
The project also emphasizes sustainability and ongoing support. Kids Compassion Charity maintains regular contact with school authorities to monitor attendance and academic progress. The organization engages with parents and guardians, encouraging their involvement to help children remain in school throughout the year. To ensure transparency and accountability, quarterly reports are produced for donors and stakeholders, detailing the initiative’s progress and impact.
